ELSOFP – Expansion of Local Smallholder Organic Farming and Forest Products from Central Asia

The aim of project
The Kyrgyz Association of Forest and Land Users (KAFLU) is implementing the ELSOFP Central Asia project. This 3-year initiative collaborates with BIOs in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The project aims to enhance the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the agricultural, forest, and food sectors of these countries. It focuses on improving production and processing efficiency for smallholder farming and forest management operations, promoting sustainable practices, and establishing quality value chains for Central Asian food products in EU markets. The project also works on creating enabling environments, supporting certification of selected food products, enhancing advisory services, and promoting gender equality and sustainable economic development, particularly for women, youth, IDPs, and ethnic minorities. My role in the project was to desing a strategy for market access.
